The DC-3 Horizontal Stabilizer or Tailplane is another magnificent example of war time american craftsmanship with its converging rivet lines. In full length the single tailplane measures 4 meters (13 feet) and features a 90° angle in the bottomline with the trailing edge (the moving part or elevator, that is hinged on the trailing edge, is not shown, but available on special order either in canvas or aluminium covering.The tailplane can be displayed in horizontal or vertical position, as a free standing object, a separation screen or a hanging art-object.
The piece depicted in this photo has been custom-cut to 278 cm length (9 feet), in order to fit in an office entry-hall.
