This Coffee or Lounge table is built from an authentic DC-3 fuselage skinpanel, in mirrorpolished finish. It has a hardened single glass plate of 10 or 12 mm thickness, that emerges from both sides of the curved top of the skinplate. An aluminium space frame has been constructed under that plate as load carrier for the glassplate. This table features a circular LED light , hidden under the curved top, that gives the special effect of greenish light, that emits from the glass sides. Furthermore, you will notice an original fuselage lamp , that comes with a low voltage General Electric bulb, as was originally used for the lighting of the engines by night, for emergency inspection and start up.The table has 4 adjustable legs for stabilizing, same as used under the DC-3 Wingtip Desk. An Avionart numbered Certification plate of authentic Douglas OEM WW II product is provided with this table. Dimensions can vary on request , the table depicted is 177 x 88 cm, height is 43 cm. glassplate 10 mm thickness. We have built smaller dimensions with similar height and an identical construction with an original C-47 Cargo door is also feasible. Those single cargo doors have a similar curving and dimensions as the plate shown here.
